  B3 Niacinamide Serum (1 oz)

Dr. Oz had a special guest Sharon Giese, M.D., a cosmetic plastic surgeon to help explain to viewers that there are non-surgical secrets to looking younger. The following is summary of Dr. Oz’s and Dr. Giese’s latest anti-aging advice:

Anti-aging Natural Cure #1: Vitamin B3 for Wrinkles

In your foods, vitamin B3 is well-known as an energy booster, but recent research now shows that a relative of the nutritional vitamin B3 is a newer form of vitamin B3 called “niacinamide” that can be found in the latest skin care products that some refer to as “Botox in a bottle.” Dr. Oz tells viewers that the “niacinamide” form of vitamin B3 can plug fine lines and help eliminate wrinkles, and that it works by repairing skin cells through increasing capillary dilation and improving blood flow.

“B3 is a triple threat for aging skin—it boosts three kinds of proteins,” says Dr. Oz as he tells viewers that together, the 3 proteins make skin look younger as follows: One of the proteins helps by plumping up the skin; a second protein referred to as a “hydration protein” helps by preventing skin dryness; while the third protein has a structural role that retrains the skin to undo existing wrinkles.

“A natural anti-inflammatory, vitamin B3 can keep your skin supple and smooth,” adds Dr. Oz.

“I just love the idea of vitamins for the skin…vitamin B3 in particular is great because it is absorbed through the skin,” says Dr. Giese. “It’s not harsh and it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

To apply the proper dose, she recommends a nickel-size dollop of a vitamin B3-containing face cream applied gently over the entire face and neck twice a day. Because the skin cells renew every 3 weeks, she tells viewers that you can expect to see noticeable results in one month.

This very light serum absorbs quickly into skin while it delivers 5% Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to your skin.  It uses a brand new emulsifying system (Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetyl Palmitate and Palm Stearic Acid) that is accepted and approved natural.  The emulsifying and the organic preservative system conforms with the Whole Food Premium list, are across all databases and the CIR panel rated as safe, and are approved for use in products certified by the on the Natural Products Association (NPA) and NSF made with organic standard.
Studies have proven in the recent years that niacinamide is a powerful ingredient that yields many skin care benefits.

Commonly known as Vitamin B3, Niacinamide at 2% has been shown to reduce water loss in the skin and retain fatty acid levels (younger, plumper, firmer) It has also been proven at high concentrations (between 3-4%) to be a very effective acne reducer. Clinical research has shown niacinamide (Vit B3) to be just as effective as the topical antibiotic Clindamycin at treating acne. Obviously Niacinamide doesn’t run the risk of resistance, since it is not an antibiotic.

Niacinamide is also an excellent skin lightening agent that works by disrupting the transfer of melanosome from the melanocyte to the keratinocyte.  A study done by Procter & Gamble that proved that the combination of niacinamide and glucosamine (N-Acetyl Glucosamine) demonstrated significant skin lightening in patients.

In general, most individuals saw results after 8 weeks of daily usage (and saw a reduction of 35-68% of pigmentation). Like with most other skin lightening compounds, niacinamide has an inhibitory effect and in order to get the most out of it, you must be wearing sunscreen everyday and exfoliate often to ensure a complete melanin inhibiting process.

Vitamin B3 Niacinamide was featured on Dr. Oz stating that this is better than botox and has great anti-aging results.

I use this every day, am and pm before apply moisturizer. It really keeps my skin from drying out and makes it feel soft and smooth. Seems to actually plump the skin a bit. I wish I had known about this product sooner since I've been fighting facial dermatitis for years and this really does help with the flaky dryness I used to experience.
